July 4th's Events
Chetopa Kansas may be a very small town, but we take great pride in our community events! Our Independence Day Celebration can be deemed outstanding in it's field, thanks to the efforts put forth by our Chamber of Commerce and other dedicated community members. July 4th proves to be a big hit, bringing in a great crowd every year from many surrounding communities. Below you will find information on the various events planned for our 2017 Celebration.
Arts & Craft Vendors along with Food Vendors will be set up from 10:00AM till dark.
Jonie Midgett with Game Time Apparel along with Malia Merrick will be selling T-Shirts. Jonie has made a T-Shirt in support of our Independence Day Celebration and those will also be available for purchase.
Chetopa High School Cheer Leaders will Host the Dunk Tank again this year!
Chetopa Junior High Cheer Leaders will be selling raffle tickets for a New Patio Set
Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00
TROPICAL SNO IS COMING BACK!!!
Genelle's Kettle Korn Trailer will be here!
Sarah & Drew Chamberlin will be set up selling Cotton Candy & Italian Ice
VB Specialties will be bringing their trailer & will be set up at the tractor pull in the morning and stay throughout the fireworks in the East River Park.
They will have drinks along with Walking Tacos, Coney Dogs, and much more.
FUNNEL CAKES by the Chetopa VFW
Chetopa Chamber of Commerce will be in the Community Building
selling Hamburgers & Hot Dogs from 12:00PM till selling out.
They will start a Fish Fry at 3:00PM
We have a Lemonade Stand coming this year!!
LCC Raidography Club will be selling food in Veterans Park in the Evening!!
Chetopa Manor will be selling some snacks during the Fireworks!
Nathan Scott will be selling glow sticks in the evening!
4th of July BINGO was a big hit!
Therefore, It's back on this years schedule!
Come in out of the heat and join Tammy & Lee in the Mae Lessley Community Building from 12:00PM - 2:00PM.
It's sure to be a fun time!
Please note that it does cost .25 cents per card to play.

Chetopa's Swimming Pool will host a free swim from 12:00PM to 6:00PM for the July 4th Celebration.
From 1:00PM to 2:00PM there will be swimming games sponsored by Lawellin Hauling, Backhoe, & Trenching.
The swimming pool will also reopen after the fireworks till Midnight, however there will be an admission fee for that swim time.
Come out and join Shawna and the crew at the swimming pool.
The Chetopa Police Department will once again sponsor their Famous UTV Race in the East River Park.
The race starts at 12:00PM and is one event that always promises to keep you on your toes. Bring your RZR's and UTV's and join Scott the Cop in having a little fun.
There is no entry fee for this event, just a few rules to follow. Onlookers are always welcome to bring their lawn chairs and watch the fun.
This event is Sponsored by Chetopa Police Department.
The Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring Inflatable Games for the Kids starting at 12:00PM and running until 7:00PM. .
The inflatables are FREE to all children.
Chetopa Chamber of Commerce will start selling Hamburgers and Hot Dogs in the Mae Lessley Community Building at 12:00PM.
At 3:00PM they will add a Catfish dinner to that menu.
All proceeds from the food goes to provide events like this!

will be giving free train rides throughout the day to little children!
Bring the children out to enjoy this fun event with our wonderful Police Force.
